* 1 major terrorist attack in Mumbai is known as 26/11

* This attack took place in Mumbai on 26 November 2008

* More than 160 people were killed and 308 people were badly injured in this attack.

* On this day, this attack took place in these places of Mumbai.

* Lashkar-e-Toiba was credited for this attack

* According to sources, 16 groups of terrorists were present at different places in the city.

* 10 terrorists were involved in this attack, who were 20 to 25 years old.

* To deal with this attack, the central government sent 200 NSG commandos, 50 commandos and 5 troops.

* The attack took place on the night of 26 November and ended on 28 November

* The attack started around 9:00 pm

* The only surviving terrorist Ajmal Kasab was caught in this case

* Ajmal Kasab was hanged in Yerwada Jail, Pune on 21 November 2012

* The terrorists of this attack came from Karachi by sea on a boat

* It is said that some fishermen were suspicious of these people and they also informed the police. But the area's police did not give any special attention to this nor did it inform the top officials or intelligence forces.

* Terrorist game started at Mumbai's railway station Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The terrorists reached there and fired indiscriminately and also threw hand grenades in which 58 innocent people were killed.

* Taj hotel was the biggest target in this attack; Smoke emanating from Taj Hotel building became the identity of the attacks later.

At the time of the attack, the Taj also included many members of the European Union's Parliamentary Committee on International Trade, although none of them suffered any harm.

* Since 1871, the bullets in the walls of Leopold Cafe, which had been serving guests, left traces of attack

* By the morning of 29 November, nine attackers had been wiped out and one attacker in the form of Ajmal Kasab was in police custody. The situation was completely under control but more than 160 people had lost their lives.

* Two flaws were mentioned in this case, first the late arrival of NSG commandos and the second live coverage of media

* Hemant Karkare, Chief of Anti Terrorist squad, was the first officer to be martyred in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks

* Major Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in this attack, was awarded the Ashok Chakra on 29 January 2009

* Soldier Tukaram Ombale, the only surviving terrorist who caught Ajmal Kasab, was awarded the Ashok Chakra on 26 January 2009
